Prayer Of The Day – Letting Go Of Past Offenses

Dear Lord,

I realize that sometimes it is very difficult to let go of the past.  I remember the things people have done that hurt me or offended me in someway, and when I see that behavior happening again it is hard not to revert back to the other times it happened.

But I know that if we already resolved those past offenses, it is only right that I truly let them go.

Please help me to move on and to not hold those offenses against others anymore.  Clear my mind of them and heal my wounds in Jesus name AMEN!

3 Keys to Receiving God’s Promises

mountainsns

Mark 11:23
“Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

In order to receive what God promises in the bible, you need to do three things. First, make up your mind. Take control of his promise and don’t let go. Be tenacious! God responds to faith that perseveres and a mind that is made up: ‘With God all things are possible’ (Matthew 19:26 KJV).

Former baseball star Sam Ewing said, ‘Nothing is as embarrassing as watching someone do something that you said couldn’t be done.’

Second, visualise your victory. Before construction starts, the architect already has a picture of the end result in his or her mind. By faith Abraham ‘saw’ his children; he counted them every time he looked up at the stars (see Genesis 15:5).

Use your memory to replay past victories, and your imagination to pre-play future ones. That’s what David did when he slew Goliath. Look your giant squarely in the face and declare, you’re coming down in the name of the Lord.

Third, speak to your situation. Jesus said: ‘Whoever says to this mountain. “Be removed and…cast into the sea,” and does not doubt…but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.’

Notice, Jesus used the word believes once, but what referred to what you say three times. Could that be because we already know so much about believing, but need to learn more about how to speak in and to our situation?

Don’t just talk about your mountains, talk to it! Line up what you say with God’s word. Make His Word your word, and the mountain will become your servant. It has to – Jesus said so!

Its A Necessary Part Of The Process

process

We can get impatient when it comes to Gods will for our lives. We want everything to work out on our timetable. The truth is, a great deal of time usually elapses between when God calls us and when we’ve fulfilled His will for our lives.

And until we accept that, we’re not ready to go anywhere.

We need to understand that the journey is an important part of the process. It matters to God what you become on the way to where you are going. And following Him in obedience through many unknown, trails, and difficulties is an integral and indispensable part of the preparation.

God uses the journey to teach you faith, refine your character, and equip you for greater challenges that lie ahead. In fact, if you’re in the process of seeking Gods will right now, you’re already fulfilling part of it in your life.

God said, ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the ways you should go.’

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that because you don’t know all you’d like to, you’re not making progress.

Something is happening right now. Your faith is being stretched; your patience is being developed. Your doubts are being confronted and conquered, and your relationship with God is growing deeper. He always prepares us in advance for what He has planned for us.

Yes, the struggle is uncomfortable — but its a necessary part of the process.

Thank God for the way that He uses everything to transform you and deepen your relationship with Him.

Do You Feel Like You’re Walking in Circles?

walking in circles

A Biologist experimented with what he called ‘processional caterpillars’. He lined up caterpillars on the rim of a pot that held a plant so that the lead caterpillar was head to tail with the last caterpillar, with no breaks in the parade.

The tiny creatures walked around the rim of the pot for a full week before they died of exhaustion and starvation. Not once did any of them break out of line and venture over to the plant to eat.

Food was only inches away, but their follow-the-crowd-instinct was stronger than the drive to eat and survive.

The same thing happened to an entire generation of Israelites. They walked in circles in the wilderness for 40 years, even though they were only 11 miles from the promise land.

If you’re in a rut today, ask yourself these three questions:

Is this rut of my own making?

We choose a rut because it’s comfortable and requires no risk. And getting out of it requires courage and a willingness to make tough choices you follow through on.

Who am I following?

We adopt certain patterns because someone has taught them to us directly, or by example. Instead of mindlessly following the crowd, seek God’s will for your life and commit yourself to doing it.

Where am I going?

The Bible says, ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish’ (Proverbs 29: 18 KJV).

If you want to get out of the rut, you’re in today, ask God to give you a vision for your life — He will. And when he does, Pour yourself into it. Begin 2020 on the right foot.

Conquering Your Fear Of Lack

fear 2

Why does the bible compare us to sheep? Because they are one of the most dependent creatures in the world; they must trust in the shepherd for everything they need.

And that is how God wants you to live: in dependence on him.

When you always live in fear of lack, you’re not trusting God enough. This core fear drives many of our other fears, including fear of ageing, fear of poor health and fear of losing the people we love

In its extreme form, fear of lack can lead to anxiety. It’s also one of the root causes of greed.

You can become so obsessed with insuring yourself against the possibility of not having enough, that you hoard more than you’ll ever need.

It can drive you to become a workaholic so that neither you nor your children will ever experience discomfort, inconvenience, and helplessness. And like all fears, it’s based on an erroneous belief about God — in particular, His ability and willingness to take care of you.

“The Lord is my shepherd (to feed, guide, and shield me); I shall not lack.” Stop living as though you don’t believe what God has promised you! A good strategy is to learn the promises, understand the conditional ones, meet the conditions, and rest in his love and faithfulness.

This doesn’t mean you sit idly by and wait for God to do what He has given you the ability to do. You must do the natural things, and trust Him for the supernatural ones.

How to Remove Your Problems?

mountainsns

Jesus said: whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them’ (vv 23-24 NKJV).

Now, Jesus didn’t relocate any physical mountains during His ministry, so what was he talking about here?

The problems we face in life! And notice something important: He talked only once about our need for ‘faith’ — and three times about our need to ‘speak’ His Word. Why? Because if you don’t have enough faith to move your mouth and speak God’s word, you won’t have enough faith to move your mountain!

The bible says, ‘faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ (Romans 10:17 NKJV). Something wonderful happens when you verbalise Gods Word. Your ears listen to it, your mind is renewed, your focus is changed, and the thing that God responds to – faith – rises up within you.

And when you hold that position of faith, refuse to budge, and keep speaking God word, the mountain in your life starts to shift. As long as you keep saying what you think and feel in your natural mind, the mountain will keep standing like an immovable object.

But when you stand on God’s promise and declare, ‘I may not know how or when, but I know that you are coming down in the name of Jesus, ‘your mountain will move.

Enjoy your week.

The Obstacle in our Path

bbbn

In ancient times, a king had his men place a boulder on a roadway. He then hid in the bushes, and watched to see if anyone would move the boulder out of the way. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers passed by and simply walked around it.

Many people blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone removed.

One day, a peasant came along carrying vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to push the stone out of the way. After much pushing and straining, he finally managed.

After the peasant went back to pick up his vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the road. By Unknown Author.

Moral of the story – Every obstacle that we come across gives us an opportunity to improve our circumstances, and while the lazy complain, others are creating opportunities through their kind hearts, generosity, and willingness to get things done.

Life can get difficult sometimes, and it is hard to put a finger on why? You do the best you can, but nothing seems to work out.

You regret some decisions you have made. You feel guilty about past mistakes, and doubt sets in about your future. These thoughts can change to feelings that your life is out of your control. As negativity fills your mind, you can become stressed, and depressed; which eventually can lead to ill health.

If you could step back for just a moment, you would quickly realise, by placing your attention on your problems, you have stopped God’s healing energy from flowing into your life.

No matter how strong your faith negativity can take its toll, draining your spirit, making you doubt yourself. Your character can change and before long you’re not the person you once were.

Even the best of us can lose our way from time to time.

Faith is like a muscle, it needs to be worked regularly or it loses its power. Simply taking the time to connect to spirit can work wonders. A few words are all it takes to relight the flame of faith.
