The Question That reveals So Much About You?

Maybe you are stressed or frustrated and you dont know why… ‘you just don’t feel yourself,’ you are short with people and easily irritated.

If you can relate then you need to ask yourself this question…

Are your thoughts positive or negative?

If most of your thoughts are negative? Worrying about the virus, about your family, friends work etc. Then the negative thoughts will soon wear away your faith. Soon you will start talking negatively and not have much hope for the future.

Many people look to you for encouragement its important that you stay strong for those people.

So, how can you do this?

Well, a good starting point is, you must purposely do the things each day that gives you the most enjoyment. If you enjoy painting, paint. If you enjoy reading, read. Running, run. Sounds simple but often it’s the simple things that we overlook. Choosing instead to put our attention on the wrong things, and when you’re surrounded by negativity its impossible to be positive.

So instead of looking at the news or going on social media first thing int the morning, wait until lunch. Make sure you go for a walk each day or get some sort of exercise. As exercise has so many benefits:

  • Improve your memory and brain function (all age groups).
  • Protect against many chronic diseases.
  • Aid in weight management.
  • Lower blood pressure and improve heart health.
  • Improve your quality of sleep.
  • Reduce feelings of anxiety and depression.
  • Combat cancer-related fatigue.
  • Improve joint pain and stiffness.

With so much fear on media networks and all-over social media, we must also actively feed our minds with faith. We must seek out positive information to lift us up and make us feel better.

When you arise in the morning, I recommend, investing the first hour in yourself, take a walk in nature, spend some time in the garden, start your day with prayer. You will be amazed at the difference in the way you feel and in the results you will get. You will gradually transform your thinking about yourself and what is possible for you. You will become healthier in both mind and body and your faith will grow.

To help ignite your flame of faith today I would like to offer you the chance to get my new book for FREE. Lord, Light My Path, is now available on Amazon. Click on image below.

Enjoy your day.

A Ray of Light

The last 12 months have probably been the hardest of my life. I have heard it said that peoples greatest fear is the fear of the unknown…

Well, the future is unknown.

For most of last year, I found myself looking for answers, looking for information to help me understand what was going on as the whole world shutting down has never happened in history.

What I found was the more I looked, the more fearful and anxious I became as stories varied. As good as the Internet is, it does have a lot of negatives. Stories can be written and shared without any factual evidence to back them up.

Which, in my opinion, is very dangerous.

For me, that’s what has been the hardest part of the last twelve months; there are too many opinions and not enough facts. When we need strong, confident leaders, there doesn’t seem to be any around.

With fear all around me, coming from the news, social media, friends, and family, it sadly got the better of me.

My prayers seem to be going unanswered. Instead of things getting better, when I would turn on the television, I was met with riots on the streets in America and unrest all over the planet.

Then one day, I sat down and took some notes. Asking myself a question;

What was I spending most of my days doing?

  • Watching the news.
  • Talking about the pandemic.
  • Reading stories about the virus and the many conspiracy type stories that came up on social media.

At that moment, I decided to stop the negative sources of information and purposely fill my mind with faith. Almost instantly, I noticed that my anxiety faded, and my sleep and eating improved.

Fear Has A Powerful Effect on Us, But So Too Has Faith— But Faith Must Be Present

With so much fear on media networks at this time and all-over social media, we must actively feed our minds with faith. We must seek out positive information to lift us up and make us feel better.

When in the midst of fear, it can be difficult, but it is necessary.

It can be so tempting to check the news each day in the hope that there has been a sudden change but more often than not, we are met with even more negative news.

Its only when you make God the centre of your day will you see real change, as a light starts to shine into your life. A light of hope, a light of faith, a light of expectancy that all will get better soon.

To share a little bit of my light with you, I have written a book containing the wisdom and knowledge that has given me strength and renewed by faith once again.

For those that don’t see a silver lining…

At the moment, there are dark clouds overhead, and if you look around, you will notice that everyone is staring straight up at them.

And, if you’re not careful, you will start to do the same.

Yes, the sky is dark, but don’t follow everyone else, be one of the people that search’s the sky for that gap in the clouds. Sometimes the simple act of looking instils faith.

The moment that the gap appears only the ones that are looking will find it. That ray of light reminding you that behind the clouds is a clear blue sky.

It never went away, but its absence fooled everyone that it was gone.

If you look back through the last 100 years, there have been some very dark times in our history, but the darkness past and the sun shined again.

Until the sky clears the best that we can do is be the sunshine to all the people in our lives, and pray the dark clouds quickly drift from view.

Are you having a Red Sea moment?

One of the most powerful stories of the old testament, in my opinion, is when the Israelites came to the Red Sea, and Moses held up his staff, and the waters parted.

With current events, that’s where I think we are now.

The Pharaoh, the 600 chariots, and skilled warriors are coming behind us, that could be represented as fear, uncertainty, worry and doubt. Coming from the potential threat of the virus, the global unrest, stories from the news and all peoples opinions on social media.

The parted water is the path into the future, we know all will be ok when we get to the other side, but them walls of water could fall at any time.

Faith is easy in the good times, but it’s the difficult times that test just how strong it is.

I read something on Twitter the other day, it said:

A true atheist knows that nothing ultimately matters and lives a relatively carefree life. A true believer knows that it’s all in God’s hands and lives a relatively carefree life. A lot of agnostics out there. @naval

So very true. A true believer knows that everything is part of God’s plan.

I can imagine that the best way to have crossed the Red Sea would have been to keep your focus on the other side and walk straight ahead with a fixed gaze.

For those that looked up at the walls of water and turned around from time to time to see if the Pharoah and his army was getting closer, I can imagine it was a terrifying experience, that would have made the crossing 100 times more stressful.

Fast-forwarding to today. All the people that are checking the news regularly, reading every social media post about the virus, the protests, and the looting. Im sure it’s a terrifying experience.

For them, the next 6-8months will be 100 times more stressful.

Im not here to say what is right or wrong; if you are reading this, you are old enough to make your own decisions.

But I guarantee you that if you keep your family and friends close and focus on the other side, planning and working towards the future, learning new skills and maintaining your health. You will come out of this crisis a lot stronger and wiser than you were going in.

Have a good day.

Turn A Negative Into a Positive

Now is a difficult time for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you own a business, are an employee, unemployed, a student, a child or even in retirement. Current events are affecting us all.

Now more than ever, we need to have faith that everything will work out.

If you are doubtful, I completely understand, but history is a great predictor of future events.

In world war 2, millions of Jews were murdered in Germany by Hitler. We can only imagine the fear the Jewish people in Europe felt at that time. I’m sure they probably felt like there was no hope for the future.

Fast forward to 2020, and the Jewish people are the most powerful people on the planet. They are by far the richest and the most influential in every area of business, finance, music and arts.

So if you are fearful at this time, know that the future will be better, for all of us.

Humanity will learn from this. We will value our freedom so much more; we will appreciate our family and friends more, putting greater value on our health and our jobs.

As you are probably fully aware, walking into supermarkets and crowded spaces now involve wearing a face covering, so I had an idea of turning a negative into a positive. So, working with a graphic designer, I have designed a face covering to send a message of faith to others.

They are made and delivered by a company called Redbubble. All masks are sold at cost. (10% off available when you sign up the Redbubble.)

Are You Having A Hard Time Waiting? Wait patiently for it will surely take place

waiting

Has God promised you something and humanly speaking you see no way it can come to pass?

Are you having A hard time waiting? Read this scripture, “if it seems slow wait patiently for it will surely take place.”

God does things on schedule, and your appointment is still on his calendar. Be assured that nothing the enemy does can pre-empt the plan for God for your life.

When he gives you a promise, it’s like a seed. First, you must fall into the fertile soil of faith and be given time to grow.

Then you must be watered regularly through prayer and the word of God.

It won’t come to pass because you push and try to manipulate; “it’s…. not by might nor by power but by my spirit, saith the Lord” (Zachariah 4:6 KJV).

If God has promised you something, stand on his word and remind yourself, “my life can’t end before this comes to pass.”

The story of Joseph‘s life could be summed up in this scripture; “until the time that this word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him” (Psalm 105:19 NKJV)

Why test something? To reveal its strength; to see if it holds up or falls apart under pressure.

What has God promised you? Do you believe him? How strong is your faith? If it’s weak, God will put you back into the school of faith so you can learn the lessons, pass the tests, and graduate.

‘Without faith, it is impossible to please God for he who comes to God must believe that he is a rewarder’ (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)

The word for you today is keep believing God, and it will happen.

Wait patiently, for it will surely take place
Habakkuk 2:3

Enjoy the rest of your week.

How to Stop Worrying and Clear Your Head From Anxious Thoughts

worry cover edit

I was brought up in a family that would worry about day to day problems. So, I thought that’s what worry was. Thinking about whether someone was ok or whether a family member would get to their destination safely.

It’s not until a few years ago did I find out how bad worry could get. It all started the moment that I decided to stand up for myself.

Normally a people pleaser I started to say no, as I felt that certain people were taking advantage of my good nature. That simple action started a series of events that took me to my knees.

If someone would have told me the results of standing up for myself, I may never have. Doing what others wanted me to do would have been such an easier option.

Some people, I have discovered, only want you for what you give them. Their friendships are based on a set of conditions.

When you break them condition’s they will make your life very uncomfortable. Certain people tried their best to push me back into the person I was. The people pleaser that never said no, and always did what I was told.

Bullying and emotional abuse is what followed. Not the terms I would have used at the time but terms that my doctor and councillor gave for what the people were doing to me.

At first, I worried whether I had done something wrong, so I decided that keeping out of their way was the best thing to do, but this seemed to fuel the problem.

Of course, I was annoyed and upset but I didn’t think what was happening would lead to anything serious. Then I started to have a pain in my throat and chest. I went to the doctor about it, who said it was stress and to take it easy for a while. So, I did.

When I returned to my regular life it started again, I became afraid of meeting the people giving me so much hostility, so much so that one day I took a mild panic attack.

I returned to my doctor, explaining the situation. He said that what I was describing was bullying. Not until that point did, I regard what was happening as bullying. Now looking back, I was in denial. I never thought that close friends would bully me, but they did.

Getting myself out of that situation was only the beginning. Something had clicked within me. Usually a confident, happy, life loving person, I began to feel anxious, disconnected, and vulnerable.

Every moment of the day was filled with fearful thoughts, I was overflowed with insecurities, and self-doubt. Physically I felt a tightness in my chest most of the day. I was having trouble sleeping and my body was too anxious to enjoy food.

Day after day the feelings were relentless and exhausting. I was trapped on a never-ending emotional rollercoaster and couldn’t find any peace.

Anxiety makes you feel that there is something wrong when there isn’t. It eats away at your confidence and affects every area of your life. I was scared of my own thoughts and bodily sensations, constantly on red alert for the next panic attack.

I spent my days trying to gain back some control by monitoring my feelings and avoiding situations that made me feel anxious.

The turning point came when I decided that I didn’t want to live with anxiety anymore. That decision took me on a quest of discovery. It helped me gain the discipline to do what was necessary to make a recovery.

For me, my anxiety manifested itself because I needed to make certain changes in my life that I didn’t have the courage to make on my own. I was surrounded by people and circumstances that were not good for my mental health. My growth was limited.

What started out as a negative experience turned out to be a positive one. The negative people needed to be removed for me to reach the next level of my destiny.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. It may seem like you will never overcome your relentless worry or crippling anxiety, but I would like you to know today that you can. But you can’t sit inactive

It is pleasant to daydream, wouldn’t it be amazing to be without worry or anxiety, but to make your daydreams come true you have to start walking in their direction. You have to take action.

You have to take the first step, and then the second, the third, and all the steps that separate you from your goal. This is valid for every improvement you would like to make, small or big, relating to your job, health, finance, self-improvement or spirituality.

Make that step today and download my book on Amazon by clicking on the image below.
