Feeling Hurt Or Angry At Someone In Your Life?

Sometimes the best thing to do is turn the situation over to God. Yes but what about those go-getters who ride with the Sun, skip breakfast, and break records well I’m just giving it to God?

Good question.

Look at Jesus; He didn’t get started until he was 30. What about all those wasted years?
He left them to God. And how did he react to those who heard his message, shrugged and walked away. Left them to God and what about those nitpicking Pharisees who give him so much grief? He left them to God as well.

An old minister once said that he felt driven and drained by never-ending demands, saying,

“If people weren’t changing, I felt responsible. If someone drifted, somehow it was my fault. If there wasn’t continual growth, I acted as if I needed to make it happen. If a sermon failed to ring with clarity and power, I struggled all of Monday and half of Tuesday.

Talk about wasted energy!

Time has helped; so has age. Virtually all of the things that one stole my joy and assaulted my motivation – I just leave to God.

Don’t I care? Of course, I care. But those cares are now placed in the hands of one who can handle them. What once bothered me, I’ve learnt to give over to him who doesn’t mind being disturbed.

Whereas criticism used to cripple me for days, now I do my best to shift until I learn what I can and turn the rest over to God.”

Wise words, and words we all should follow.

If people hurt you or criticise you don’t waste your time or energy thinking about them, hand them over to God. He will deal with them. Don’t get caught up in there web of megativity. Don’t let them win.

Keep your head high and know that you did know wrong, and your actions will not go unnoticed. Love and peace will fill your soul.

God’s Remedy For Depression

Psalm 43:5
“Why, my soul, are you downcast?”

According to studies, one in 10 people are affected by depression at some point in their lives, with up to 10 times more people suffering from depression now than in 1945.

The most worrying thing is most of them won’t reach for assistance because they believe that depression is a personal weakness.

Now, let’s make an important distinction here. If you are clinically depressed it could be due to a chemical imbalance in your body, and a doctor can help you.

But the bible can help if you are feeling sad or hopeless, as it provides wisdom on how to recover. Your situation won’t be solved with a few clichés or a good pick me up from a friend. What you need is wisdom that is from above. (James 3:17 KJV)

After calling down fire from heaven, Elijah sat down….and prayed that he might die’ (1 Kings 19:4 NKJV). Fortunately, he turned to the right source. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up” (1 Kings 19:5 NIV 2011 Edition).

Now, God may not send you an angel, but he will answer you, lift and restore you. The psalmist said; why my soul, are you so downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my saviour and my God.’

Who is David talking to? Himself! First, he talked to God about his problem; that’s what you do in prayer.

Next, he listened to God about his problem; that’s what you do when you read scriptures and speak them over your life. That strategy works. It worked for David — and it will work for you too.
