If you try to fight a tidal wave, you will not Win

In the writing of a recent comment on another blog, my inner feelings came out, and I thought I would share.

I think for the longest time I was fighting this whole experience, wanting it to fade away. For things to return to the way, they were. But as the weeks and months roll on, I realise the world needed this.

We all needed a wake-up call.

Materialism gets a lot of bad press, but for me, life is all about balance. The world, however, was out of balance. It’s so easy and natural to think, me me me, at times like this because YOU are directly affected by current events but if you look at the macro picture, you will realise that our level of consumerism could not continue.

People were living on fake money; many people have a deck of cards in their wallet, with no question of who foots the bill. We all have been living away beyond our means; we don’t need all the luxuries that we have. Advertising has convinced us that we need certain items to fit into society.

A couple of years back I was in the queue for a cash machine, and a group of girls were laughing at someone walking past because he didn’t have a smartphone saying, “he must live such a sad life.”

So having a smartphone means you have a good life?

That is the world that we were living in—shows on TV glamorising botox, plastic surgery, and bleached teeth. Children were getting anxious and depressed because they couldn’t have the latest technology and clothes.

As a society, we have lost touch with nature.

Look at the raging fires, and floods, droughts all over the planet, 100s of animals going extinct, whales and dolphins washing up dead on beaches. The wounds of how we live our lives.

Nature is all-powerful and what is happening is the balance that is needed.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10

Free eBook To Strengthen Your Faith

Firstly Happy Independence Day to all my American readers.

It’s been a challenging 2020 so far. With so much fear in the mainstream news and on social media, we must feed our faith daily.

I guess that is the main message that I want to instil in everyone that reads my blog, the best that any of us can do is live today with faith.

We cant change the past, and all we can do about the future is prepare for it.

What has happened in the last 3-4 months is very hard to get our head around. There is so much to worry and be anxious about. And people seem to be realising that the mainstream news and social media are doing nothing more than making their worry and anxiety worse.

So what’s the solution?

During uncertain times what we need is content that gives us hope, encouragement and faith, the only problem is if you’re waiting for that information to come to you…

You will be waiting a long time.

It’s up to us to consume the content that makes us stronger, content that builds us up, content that makes us think of a brighter tomorrow.

Yes, we are living in unprecedented times, but it’s nothing compared to what our grandparents faced. A depression and two world wars.

In the past, the older generation was respected and during difficult times were turned to for wisdom and knowledge. But sadly now the older generation is almost dismissed mainly due to the Internet.

The Internet is an amazing tool, of that there is no doubt, it can give you a wealth of information, all the information you will ever need, but what the Internet can’t give you is…. experience.

To find out how to move forward, you must learn how people in the past got through similar situations.

Feed Your Faith

In my new book, look up, I share the wisdom that I learnt from my grandparents and the Bible, that will diffuse any feelings of worry, doubt or anxiety that you might be facing.

Scripture documents probably the hardest time in human history, giving us the knowledge and wisdom to overcome whatever problems may come our way.

As it’s easy to become stressed or anxious over current events, I have included a guided meditation with the book to calm your racing thoughts allowing you to think more clearly. Enabling you to pray from a place of faith.

Look Up is currently available on FREE promotion on Amazon.

Are You Having A Hard Time Waiting? Wait patiently for it will surely take place

waiting

Has God promised you something and humanly speaking you see no way it can come to pass?

Are you having A hard time waiting? Read this scripture, “if it seems slow wait patiently for it will surely take place.”

God does things on schedule, and your appointment is still on his calendar. Be assured that nothing the enemy does can pre-empt the plan for God for your life.

When he gives you a promise, it’s like a seed. First, you must fall into the fertile soil of faith and be given time to grow.

Then you must be watered regularly through prayer and the word of God.

It won’t come to pass because you push and try to manipulate; “it’s…. not by might nor by power but by my spirit, saith the Lord” (Zachariah 4:6 KJV).

If God has promised you something, stand on his word and remind yourself, “my life can’t end before this comes to pass.”

The story of Joseph‘s life could be summed up in this scripture; “until the time that this word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him” (Psalm 105:19 NKJV)

Why test something? To reveal its strength; to see if it holds up or falls apart under pressure.

What has God promised you? Do you believe him? How strong is your faith? If it’s weak, God will put you back into the school of faith so you can learn the lessons, pass the tests, and graduate.

‘Without faith, it is impossible to please God for he who comes to God must believe that he is a rewarder’ (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)

The word for you today is keep believing God, and it will happen.

Wait patiently, for it will surely take place
Habakkuk 2:3

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Personalise Gods Promises

promise

When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3 NLT

Underlying your deepest fears — are thoughts. They may be expressed publicly or entertained privately. Either way, you must be aware of them and change them. If you don’t, they will capture and control you.

One of the most powerful weapons God has given you for conquering fear and worry is the ability to personalise His promises.

Here are just a few: don’t be afraid… you are mine. When you go through the deep waters and deep trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression… the flames will not consume you, for I am the Lord your God’ (Isaiah 43:1-3 TLB).

And what should your response to Gods promise be? “I will be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. I will not be afraid, neither will I be dismayed, for the Lord my God is with me where ever I go’ (see Joshua 1:9 AMPC).

‘The Lords’s eye is upon me because I fear Him [revere and worship Him with awe] and because I trust in his mercy and loving-kindness’ (see Psalm 33:18 AMPC).

‘When I am tempted to have a fearful and hasty heart, I will say to myself, be strong, fear not! My God will come… and save me’ (see Isaiah 35:4 AMPC).

‘The Lord is my light and my salvation… whom shall I fear?… when troubles come. He will hide me. He will set me on a high rock out of reach of all my enemies. Then I will… sing his praise with much joy’ (Psalm 27:1, 5-6 TLB).
