Need Help Making A Decision?

choice2

James 1:8 KJV
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

If you’re afraid to make a decision in case its wrong, read this Scripture: ‘If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all liberally.. and it will be given to him. But let him have faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like the wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

For let, not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord: he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways’ (James 1:5-8 NKJV).

President Reagan enjoyed telling the story of how he learned to make a firm decision. When he was a boy, his aunt sent him to a cobbler to have a new pair of shoes made for him. When the shoemaker asked, “Do you want a square toe or a round one? He hemmed and hawed, so the cobbler said, “Come back in a day or two and tell me what you want.

Later the cobbler saw Reagan on the street and asked what he had decided about the shoes. “I haven’t made up my mind yet, he answered. “Very well,” the cobbler said, “your shoes will be ready tomorrow.

When Reagan got the shoes, one had a round toe; the other had a square toe! Reagan said, “ Looking at those shoes every day taught me a lesson. “If you don’t make your own decisions, somebody else will make them for you.” Worst case: if you get it wrong, you’ll learn what not to do next time.

Bottom line: to succeed in life, you must pray for wisdom, and then make a decision.

Personalise Gods Promises

promise

When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3 NLT

Underlying your deepest fears — are thoughts. They may be expressed publicly or entertained privately. Either way, you must be aware of them and change them. If you don’t, they will capture and control you.

One of the most powerful weapons God has given you for conquering fear and worry is the ability to personalise His promises.

Here are just a few: don’t be afraid… you are mine. When you go through the deep waters and deep trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression… the flames will not consume you, for I am the Lord your God’ (Isaiah 43:1-3 TLB).

And what should your response to Gods promise be? “I will be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. I will not be afraid, neither will I be dismayed, for the Lord my God is with me where ever I go’ (see Joshua 1:9 AMPC).

‘The Lords’s eye is upon me because I fear Him [revere and worship Him with awe] and because I trust in his mercy and loving-kindness’ (see Psalm 33:18 AMPC).

‘When I am tempted to have a fearful and hasty heart, I will say to myself, be strong, fear not! My God will come… and save me’ (see Isaiah 35:4 AMPC).

‘The Lord is my light and my salvation… whom shall I fear?… when troubles come. He will hide me. He will set me on a high rock out of reach of all my enemies. Then I will… sing his praise with much joy’ (Psalm 27:1, 5-6 TLB).

Do you want to overcome your fears and worries? Personalise God’s Promises!

To Change Everything Simply Change Your Attitude

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!” Philippians NKJV

Cheryl continually complained that she didn’t make enough money, couldn’t afford the things that she wanted, and therefore wasn’t going to amount to anything.

Her counsellor said, you’re wasting your energy complaining, instead of using it to get ahead. Cheryl countered, “You don’t understand. the job is the problem, not me.”

The counsellor said, “Your low-paying job may be a problem and your boss may demand to much, but when you’re continually upset, you’re causing yourself more harm than either your boss or your job.

Cheryl asked, “what can I do?” the counsellor said, you can’t control your boss or job, but you can control how you feel about them. Change your attitude. Cheryl took his advice.

When she stopped whining about her life, people noticed. She got a promotion, and with her new job statue she was more marketable.

Within a few months she was transferred to a position with higher pay and a more supportive boss. Good things happen for people with a good attitude. And your attitude is something that you can choose regardless of circumstances.

Paul wrote, rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice. Where was Paul? In prison! Who was he writing to? People outside the prison! Why did he repeat himself and say? Again, I will say, rejoice? Because we forget and lapse back into negativity so quickly.

True joy is an inside job that’s not subject to people or outside situations. Jesus said, “These things have I spoken onto you, that you might be full.” (John 15:11 KJV)

Enjoy your weekend.

How To Think Like God?

butterfly

When you go beyond simply reading your bible and take time to meditate each day on its truths, you begin to think like God. And when that happens your life changes for the better.

Peter was so dependent on the words of Jesus that he said, “To whom shall we go? Thou hast the of eternal life.” (John 6:68 KJV). And job said, I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.” (Job 23:12NIV 2011 Edition)

How often do you set time aside to meditate on the Scriptures?

As you meditate on God word you develop a mindset that enables you to rise above your fears. ‘My word will not return to me empty. But will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it’ (Isaiah 55:11 NIV Edition).

Did you get that?

God’s word will accomplish Gods purposes in your life. That why meaningless things over you finding the time to read the bible and pray. The truth is, you don’t find time, you make it!

The prophet Isaiah said, ‘Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will’ (Isaiah 50:4 NLT).

In a world that’s often devoid of commitment God promises. ‘I won’t give up on you. I’ll keep working on you until you’re clear in your perceptions, strong in your faith, and balanced in your spiritual walk. As you meditate on My precepts, you’ll start moving in a new direction. And when that happens, your life will begin to prosper.’

So, begin today — meditate on God’s word.

Enjoy your day. 🙂

Feeling Hurt Or Angry At Someone In Your Life?

Sometimes the best thing to do is turn the situation over to God. Yes but what about those go-getters who ride with the Sun, skip breakfast, and break records well I’m just giving it to God?

Good question.

Look at Jesus; He didn’t get started until he was 30. What about all those wasted years?
He left them to God. And how did he react to those who heard his message, shrugged and walked away. Left them to God and what about those nitpicking Pharisees who give him so much grief? He left them to God as well.

An old minister once said that he felt driven and drained by never-ending demands, saying,

“If people weren’t changing, I felt responsible. If someone drifted, somehow it was my fault. If there wasn’t continual growth, I acted as if I needed to make it happen. If a sermon failed to ring with clarity and power, I struggled all of Monday and half of Tuesday.

Talk about wasted energy!

Time has helped; so has age. Virtually all of the things that one stole my joy and assaulted my motivation – I just leave to God.

Don’t I care? Of course, I care. But those cares are now placed in the hands of one who can handle them. What once bothered me, I’ve learnt to give over to him who doesn’t mind being disturbed.

Whereas criticism used to cripple me for days, now I do my best to shift until I learn what I can and turn the rest over to God.”

Wise words, and words we all should follow.

If people hurt you or criticise you don’t waste your time or energy thinking about them, hand them over to God. He will deal with them. Don’t get caught up in there web of megativity. Don’t let them win.

Keep your head high and know that you did know wrong, and your actions will not go unnoticed. Love and peace will fill your soul.

Take The Lid Of Your Thinking

jar

Until Roger bannister came on the scene in 1954, some experts said it was physically impossible to break the four minute mile.

The thinking was, if it hasnt been done before then it cant be done.

But bannister not only did it, he started a new trend. History continues to prove that records are made to be broken. And with God on your side, your chances for success go through the roof!

Paul said, I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ. (Philippians 4:13 TLB)

Have you ever seen trained fleas in a jar? You dont need a lid to keep them in. Thats because when the trainer first places them in the jar, he puts the lid on it, and the fleas jump up and down frantically hitting there heads against it.

finally after alot of headaches, they stop jumping and settle in to enjoy their newfound comfort.

Now when the lid is removed the fleas are held captive by the mindset that says, ‘So high and no higher.’

What a picture! Jesus said that he came to ‘set at liberty them that are bruised’ (Luke 4:18 KJV) Bruised by what? By past mistakes,, by harsh criticism, by crippling fears, by wrong teaching, by physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual handicaps.

In other words, Jesus came to take the lid off your thinking! No matter how bad your past is, the future He has in mind is better — and it is worth pursuing and fighting for.
